00:00:00--> 00:00:01

It's a oud, you just have to put

00:00:01--> 00:00:02

a drop. By the way, that's true.

00:00:03--> 00:00:04

Is oud because you put a drop. Some

00:00:04--> 00:00:06

people, subhanallah, you offer them your oud,

00:00:06--> 00:00:09

1500 riyals for a small bottle. Mashallah. They

00:00:09--> 00:00:10

take the thing and they putting it on

00:00:10--> 00:00:12

them. Mashallah. Like the cheap one.

00:00:13--> 00:00:15

Finishing the finishing the bottle is painful to

00:00:15--> 00:00:16

the heart,

00:00:20--> 00:00:23

And once I did this, offered the person

00:00:23--> 00:00:24

on the read, the root

00:00:24--> 00:00:25

kamboodi,

00:00:26--> 00:00:27

and he put it,

00:00:27--> 00:00:28

Lovely long line.

00:00:29--> 00:00:30

Dip dip, paint

00:00:31--> 00:00:32

job.

00:00:32--> 00:00:33

Then he smiled it,

00:00:35--> 00:00:37

and then he was washing his hand.

00:00:38--> 00:00:40

I don't know if his lahawallah was stronger

00:00:40--> 00:00:43

than mine. After Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam, the

00:00:43--> 00:00:46

legacy of Nabuwa will be carried collectively by

00:00:46--> 00:00:48

an Umma. And as such, the prophets were

00:00:48--> 00:00:50

the best of all individuals,

00:00:50--> 00:00:51

but now we will have the best of

00:00:51--> 00:00:52

all nations.

00:00:53--> 00:00:55

We are custodians of the legacy.

00:00:55--> 00:00:58

All this discourse that we learned of in

00:00:58--> 00:00:59

Surah Fathir,

00:00:59--> 00:01:01

about the Quraysh's attitude with the Prophet

00:01:03--> 00:01:05

is irregular, and it doesn't even matter. Why?

00:01:05--> 00:01:06

Innaqalamin

00:01:06--> 00:01:07

al Mursaleen,

00:01:08--> 00:01:11

God Almighty, the creator of everything in existence,

00:01:11--> 00:01:13

He testifies that you are God sent. It's

00:01:13--> 00:01:13

enough.

00:01:14--> 00:01:15

We begin in the name of Allah Subhanahu

00:01:15--> 00:01:16

Wa Ta'ala,

00:01:16--> 00:01:19

and we request praises and blessings upon Rasulullah

00:01:22--> 00:01:24

To my brothers and sisters in Islam,

00:01:34--> 00:01:35

Ameen You Rabb.

00:01:37--> 00:01:38

Subhanallah.

00:01:45--> 00:01:46

We had this very early on in the

00:01:46--> 00:01:47

recitation today,

00:01:48--> 00:01:50

and people are asking when do you think

00:01:50--> 00:01:52

Eid will be? Will it be on Tuesday

00:01:52--> 00:01:54

or will it be on Wednesday?

00:01:55--> 00:01:58

And Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala in Surah Yaseen

00:01:58--> 00:02:00

is highlighting to us

00:02:01--> 00:02:04

his system. Remember yesterday when we introduced Surah

00:02:04--> 00:02:04

Yacine,

00:02:04--> 00:02:06

we said it's from Surah

00:02:07--> 00:02:09

in which Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala,

00:02:10--> 00:02:11

he

00:02:11--> 00:02:12

establishes

00:02:13--> 00:02:13

tawhid,

00:02:14--> 00:02:14

his oneness,

00:02:15--> 00:02:16

his rububiyah,

00:02:17--> 00:02:17

all these

00:02:18--> 00:02:19

matters that the Quraysh

00:02:20--> 00:02:21

denied

00:02:22--> 00:02:24

is from those Meccan Suras.

00:02:25--> 00:02:26

And in the Surah,

00:02:27--> 00:02:30

there is a capture of the Maqan genre

00:02:30--> 00:02:31

of knowledge that Allah

00:02:32--> 00:02:35

revealed to establish early on before legislation was

00:02:35--> 00:02:36

set.

00:02:37--> 00:02:39

And regarding his rububiyah,

00:02:39--> 00:02:40

his lordship,

00:02:41--> 00:02:43

Allah mentions how he has set

00:02:43--> 00:02:45

the day and he has set the night,

00:02:46--> 00:02:48

and the day cannot overcome the night before

00:02:48--> 00:02:50

it's its time nor can the night overcome

00:02:51--> 00:02:52

the day before its time. And this is

00:02:52--> 00:02:55

something that has been set since ever, since

00:02:55--> 00:02:57

Allah created the day and the night.

00:02:57--> 00:02:59

And this is how it will be until

00:02:59--> 00:03:00

Allah decrees.

00:03:00--> 00:03:02

And all of us are witnesses to this.

00:03:04--> 00:03:07

And from the verses establishing his rububiyah is

00:03:07--> 00:03:09

this idea of the moon,

00:03:09--> 00:03:11

and the phases of the moon.

00:03:12--> 00:03:15

And in this verse that I just mentioned

00:03:15--> 00:03:17

to you that was a standard from Imam

00:03:17--> 00:03:18

Suhib's recitation,

00:03:19--> 00:03:20

this evening,

00:03:20--> 00:03:23

is how Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala likens the

00:03:23--> 00:03:25

waning moon, the moon that we're seeing right

00:03:25--> 00:03:27

now in our skies,

00:03:28--> 00:03:30

the moon of the last week of the

00:03:30--> 00:03:30

month,

00:03:31--> 00:03:34

to this Al Arjun Al Kadeem. SubhanAllah.

00:03:34--> 00:03:36

And this shows how the Quran is

00:03:37--> 00:03:38

phenomenally eloquent, because

00:03:39--> 00:03:41

the initial recipients of it are the Arabs.

00:03:43--> 00:03:43

And

00:03:44--> 00:03:47

they knew what Arjun Al Qadeem was, referring

00:03:47--> 00:03:48

to this date

00:03:49--> 00:03:50

palm stalk.

00:03:50--> 00:03:53

When it ages, it gets really old. The

00:03:53--> 00:03:54

shape that it takes,

00:03:55--> 00:03:56

it has a curvature

00:03:56--> 00:03:58

and it's waning, it's weak, it's brittle,

00:03:59--> 00:04:00

and this

00:04:00--> 00:04:01

is exactly what

00:04:02--> 00:04:04

you would see in the sky towards the

00:04:04--> 00:04:05

latter part of the month

00:04:06--> 00:04:07

when the moon

00:04:07--> 00:04:09

enters its waning phase.

00:04:09--> 00:04:10

Its light

00:04:11--> 00:04:12

becomes weaker,

00:04:12--> 00:04:14

and its shape becomes

00:04:14--> 00:04:16

more of a curvature. SubhanAllah.

00:04:17--> 00:04:18

So this is what we took today. And

00:04:18--> 00:04:20

regarding a Eid, I thought I just mentioned

00:04:20--> 00:04:22

it to capture your attention because

00:04:22--> 00:04:24

this is a question that is being asked.

00:04:24--> 00:04:25

Is it Tuesday? Is it Wednesday?

00:04:26--> 00:04:28

Of course, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is upon

00:04:28--> 00:04:30

all able, but using this verse,

00:04:31--> 00:04:33

that how Allah has set things

00:04:33--> 00:04:37

in motion then read inshallah will be Wednesday

00:04:37--> 00:04:38

because on Monday night,

00:04:39--> 00:04:40

sighting the moon

00:04:41--> 00:04:41

won't be possible

00:04:42--> 00:04:43

because

00:04:43--> 00:04:44

it's

00:04:44--> 00:04:46

birth time is after sunset,

00:04:47--> 00:04:49

around 9 PM or after 9 PM in

00:04:49--> 00:04:50

Mecca.

00:04:51--> 00:04:52

So the act of going out to site

00:04:52--> 00:04:54

will happen. You will see them going out

00:04:54--> 00:04:56

to site because this is the sunnah,

00:04:57--> 00:04:57

alhamdulillah.

00:04:58--> 00:04:59

And this shows

00:04:59--> 00:05:02

how able and capable our shari'a is.

00:05:03--> 00:05:05

And that's why we still say insha'Allah, out

00:05:05--> 00:05:06

of having adab and manners with

00:05:07--> 00:05:09

Allah because he did reveal that on 29th,

00:05:10--> 00:05:11

go and look for the moon. But in

00:05:11--> 00:05:13

terms of our knowledge of the

00:05:14--> 00:05:16

rising and setting points of the moon

00:05:17--> 00:05:17

and the

00:05:18--> 00:05:19

birth,

00:05:20--> 00:05:22

timelines of the moon, then read insha'Allah

00:05:22--> 00:05:23

will be Wednesday, wallahu

00:05:25--> 00:05:27

When we introduce Surah Yacin, we were comparing

00:05:27--> 00:05:29

it to Surah Fatih. As we try and

00:05:29--> 00:05:31

do always, we try and compare a Surah

00:05:31--> 00:05:33

to a Surah. And yesterday, time was up

00:05:33--> 00:05:35

and we said, alhamdulillah, we'll hear about Surah

00:05:35--> 00:05:36

Yacine today, so we'll try and touch on

00:05:36--> 00:05:37

some of these points.

00:05:38--> 00:05:40

If I can take you back in Surah

00:05:40--> 00:05:42

Fatir, the attitude of the Qurayshi and the

00:05:42--> 00:05:43

denial of the messenger

00:05:45--> 00:05:48

as a was mentioned. Allah mentioned this in

00:05:48--> 00:05:49

Surah Fathir.

00:05:49--> 00:05:51

And we said at the opening of Surah

00:05:51--> 00:05:53

Yaseen, I mentioned this to you yesterday, Allah

00:05:53--> 00:05:55

subhanahu wa ta'ala dispelled this

00:05:56--> 00:05:58

with testimony from the heavens.

00:05:58--> 00:06:01

At the opening of Surah Yassin, after Allah

00:06:01--> 00:06:03

establishes the Quran as the word of Allah,

00:06:03--> 00:06:06

wal Quranal Hakim, Allah says,

00:06:09--> 00:06:11

That Allah testifies that you are indeed God

00:06:11--> 00:06:12

sent.

00:06:12--> 00:06:14

That all this discourse that we learned of

00:06:14--> 00:06:16

in Surah Fathir,

00:06:16--> 00:06:18

about the Quraysh's attitude with the Prophet

00:06:20--> 00:06:23

is irregular, and it doesn't even matter. Why?

00:06:23--> 00:06:23

Innaqalamin

00:06:23--> 00:06:24

al Musaleen,

00:06:25--> 00:06:28

God almighty, the creator of everything in existence,

00:06:28--> 00:06:30

he testifies that you are God sent. It's

00:06:30--> 00:06:30

enough.

00:06:31--> 00:06:33

And this was the way of the messengers.

00:06:34--> 00:06:35

And we will we see this in Surah

00:06:35--> 00:06:38

Yaseen as well. Inshallah, we'll come across

00:06:38--> 00:06:41

wadri billahum, one of the stories that Allah

00:06:41--> 00:06:41

shares

00:06:42--> 00:06:44

in Surah Yaseen, and build on this

00:06:45--> 00:06:46

idea.

00:06:47--> 00:06:47

Also,

00:06:49--> 00:06:51

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says in Surah Fakir,

00:07:02--> 00:07:03

So all this

00:07:04--> 00:07:06

we see in Surah Fafir. Allah says he

00:07:06--> 00:07:08

causes the night to enter the day, and

00:07:08--> 00:07:09

he causes the day to enter the night.

00:07:09--> 00:07:11

And he subjected the sun and the moon,

00:07:11--> 00:07:14

each running its course for a specified term.

00:07:14--> 00:07:16

That is Allah, your Lord, to him belong

00:07:16--> 00:07:16

sovereignty.

00:07:17--> 00:07:19

So this idea of tafakkur,

00:07:19--> 00:07:21

pondering over the creation of Allah,

00:07:22--> 00:07:23

so that you can

00:07:24--> 00:07:26

understand that indeed there is

00:07:27--> 00:07:29

Allah, there is a supreme being, a divine

00:07:29--> 00:07:30

Lord.

00:07:31--> 00:07:32

Through rational evidence,

00:07:33--> 00:07:35

this is brought to us in Sura Fakr.

00:07:36--> 00:07:37

That even if you don't want to believe

00:07:37--> 00:07:38

in the Quran,

00:07:39--> 00:07:41

use the brain that Allah gave you

00:07:41--> 00:07:43

and pond over the creation

00:07:43--> 00:07:45

that Allah has placed you within.

00:07:46--> 00:07:49

And the creation will teach you that there's

00:07:49--> 00:07:50

a supreme being and deity

00:07:51--> 00:07:52

that is above his creation

00:07:53--> 00:07:54

and all powerful.

00:07:54--> 00:07:56

Something that is from ever and forever.

00:07:56--> 00:07:58

Something that creates and wasn't created.

00:07:59--> 00:08:01

Your own rational will lead you to this

00:08:01--> 00:08:01

conclusion.

00:08:01--> 00:08:05

In Surah Yaseen, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala continues

00:08:05--> 00:08:05

with this,

00:08:10--> 00:08:11

And the verse that I shared with you

00:08:11--> 00:08:11

earlier.

00:08:16--> 00:08:18

Allah says, and the sun runs on a

00:08:18--> 00:08:19

course towards its stopping point.

00:08:20--> 00:08:22

That is the determination of the exalted

00:08:22--> 00:08:25

in might, the all knowing meaning Allah. And

00:08:25--> 00:08:27

the moon, we have determined for it its

00:08:27--> 00:08:27

phases

00:08:28--> 00:08:31

until it returns appearing like the old old

00:08:31--> 00:08:31

date stalk.

00:08:32--> 00:08:33

In Surafatir,

00:08:34--> 00:08:34

further

00:08:35--> 00:08:35

tafakkur

00:08:36--> 00:08:38

or opportunities for tafakkur. Allah says,

00:08:41--> 00:08:41

And

00:08:44--> 00:08:46

you see the ships plowing through them that

00:08:46--> 00:08:48

you might seek off his bounty. The ships

00:08:48--> 00:08:50

floating on the seas, and perhaps you will

00:08:50--> 00:08:53

be grateful for them. In Sura Yassin,

00:08:54--> 00:08:55

waaayatallahu

00:08:56--> 00:08:56

annahamalna

00:08:57--> 00:08:58

zuriya tahumfilfulkil

00:08:59--> 00:09:00

mashhoon.

00:09:00--> 00:09:02

Allah says and a sign for them is

00:09:02--> 00:09:05

that we carried their forefathers in ladenships.

00:09:06--> 00:09:08

So we see the relationship between the 2

00:09:08--> 00:09:09

Surahs.

00:09:09--> 00:09:12

This is the comparing and contrasting session

00:09:12--> 00:09:13

of our time together.

00:09:14--> 00:09:17

Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala takes us to

00:09:17--> 00:09:19

the next phase of our discussion, and that

00:09:19--> 00:09:21

is Surah Safat. And inshallah,

00:09:22--> 00:09:23

Surah Yassin has more, but we are summarizing.

00:09:24--> 00:09:26

We are just trying to have a synopsis

00:09:26--> 00:09:27

of what we're reciting.

00:09:27--> 00:09:29

Today, we covered the end of Surah Yassin,

00:09:29--> 00:09:31

and then Surah Safat,

00:09:31--> 00:09:33

which seems to have a sting as well.

00:09:34--> 00:09:37

A sting. Surah Nahl, they say. The huffah,

00:09:37--> 00:09:38

when Surah Nahl comes, they

00:09:39--> 00:09:39

they

00:09:41--> 00:09:41

strategize.

00:09:42--> 00:09:43

The the Surah Al Nahal is the surah

00:09:43--> 00:09:45

of the I mentioned this this to you

00:09:45--> 00:09:46

yesterday. There are lot of

00:09:47--> 00:09:49

had similar verses in it. So some sometimes

00:09:49--> 00:09:52

I joke with tahu father. I say stings.

00:09:53--> 00:09:55

Surah Safat maybe as well, especially if when

00:09:55--> 00:09:56

next to Surasad.

00:09:57--> 00:09:59

We had Surah Safat, and then Surah Asad,

00:10:00--> 00:10:02

that was in Hafid Hambleh's recitation,

00:10:03--> 00:10:03

and then,

00:10:04--> 00:10:06

Hafid Zakir completed Surah Saad, and he introduced

00:10:06--> 00:10:07

us Surah Zumr.

00:10:07--> 00:10:08

In terms of,

00:10:11--> 00:10:13

Surah Safat, before that, I promised you I'll

00:10:13--> 00:10:15

talk to you about one of the stories

00:10:15--> 00:10:16

in Surah Yaseen.

00:10:16--> 00:10:19

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us about Ashab

00:10:19--> 00:10:21

Al Khariyah, and this is gonna build on

00:10:21--> 00:10:22

the discussion that I said mentioned to you

00:10:22--> 00:10:24

earlier about

00:10:25--> 00:10:27

Allah saying you are indeed the messenger.

00:10:28--> 00:10:29

And Surah Yaseen builds on this,

00:10:31--> 00:10:31

That in Surah

00:10:32--> 00:10:32

Yaseen,

00:10:33--> 00:10:36

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us using the

00:10:36--> 00:10:37

narrative

00:10:38--> 00:10:38

modus

00:10:39--> 00:10:40

of his rububiyah,

00:10:41--> 00:10:44

of the messengers being God sent, of the

00:10:44--> 00:10:46

Quran being the word of Allah,

00:10:47--> 00:10:49

and then he reels it back and tells

00:10:49--> 00:10:51

us again or teaches us these lessons, but

00:10:51--> 00:10:53

now in the forms of stories. Subhanallah. This

00:10:53--> 00:10:55

is from the eloquence of the Quran. That

00:10:55--> 00:10:58

there's the lesson and the consolidation of the

00:10:58--> 00:11:01

lesson without the reader getting bored in terms

00:11:01--> 00:11:02

of what they've learned.

00:11:02--> 00:11:05

That the consolidation is happening, but it's not

00:11:05--> 00:11:06

something like, you know, you feel, subhanAllah, I

00:11:06--> 00:11:08

already know this, tell me something else. No.

00:11:08--> 00:11:11

It's something that, subhanAllah, you want to carry

00:11:11--> 00:11:12

on reading. You don't get bored about it.

00:11:12--> 00:11:14

So you have the idea of the narrative.

00:11:15--> 00:11:16

Here's the microphone.

00:11:20--> 00:11:23

Dear brothers, there's a car ax07ahdford

00:11:25--> 00:11:26

fiesta

00:11:26--> 00:11:29

Blocking another car. If you kindly move because

00:11:29--> 00:11:31

family is waiting to move on, please.

00:11:32--> 00:11:34

Doctor Saif. We we needed the other doctor

00:11:34--> 00:11:35

to say this because

00:11:35--> 00:11:36

Quran,

00:11:37--> 00:11:37

car park,

00:11:38--> 00:11:39

and no one's getting up. That's even more

00:11:39--> 00:11:40

serious.

00:11:44--> 00:11:47

Don't worry. Allah is Rahman, and these are

00:11:47--> 00:11:50

the nights of forgiveness. We are all merciful

00:11:50--> 00:11:51

here as well. Get up and move the

00:11:51--> 00:11:53

car Nobody's going to look at you

00:11:54--> 00:11:56

Okay. Ashab Al Qariyah.

00:11:58--> 00:11:59

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

00:12:00--> 00:12:02

tells us about Ashab Al Qariyah.

00:12:03--> 00:12:05

And as we said now in the storytelling

00:12:05--> 00:12:06

format, he's going to affirm what he told

00:12:06--> 00:12:08

us in the narrative format.

00:12:10--> 00:12:12

This refers to a village.

00:12:12--> 00:12:14

And if we look at the modern map,

00:12:14--> 00:12:15

it refers

00:12:16--> 00:12:18

to the southern part of Turkey.

00:12:18--> 00:12:20

And the scholars of,

00:12:20--> 00:12:22

Imam and Nawawi, as well, and others,

00:12:23--> 00:12:24

they highlight that

00:12:25--> 00:12:27

refers to the Syrian Antioch.

00:12:28--> 00:12:31

The Syrian Antioch village, which as I said

00:12:31--> 00:12:32

in today's modern mapping,

00:12:33--> 00:12:34

you would place at

00:12:34--> 00:12:36

the part of southern attack.

00:12:37--> 00:12:39

Allah tells us that he sent to them

00:12:40--> 00:12:41

2 messengers.

00:12:42--> 00:12:44

And then the 2 messengers

00:12:45--> 00:12:47

needed further help,

00:12:47--> 00:12:48

so Allah sent a third.

00:12:50--> 00:12:52

And then, there were 3 messengers,

00:12:53--> 00:12:56

and the message needed further help. So Allah

00:12:56--> 00:12:56

sent

00:12:57--> 00:13:00

Allah says, Allah sent a person from the

00:13:00--> 00:13:03

furthest part of the city to tell the

00:13:03--> 00:13:04

people, follow the messengers.

00:13:05--> 00:13:05

SubhanAllah.

00:13:06--> 00:13:07

What an able

00:13:08--> 00:13:10

story being revealed in the Quran to a

00:13:10--> 00:13:12

people who are denying their messenger.

00:13:13--> 00:13:15

That Allah has sent to them, someone from

00:13:15--> 00:13:18

them, they are denying him. Allah is revealing

00:13:19--> 00:13:21

the story of another people, Ashab Al Qariyah.

00:13:21--> 00:13:23

Who Allah didn't send 1 Prophet to, but

00:13:23--> 00:13:24

2.

00:13:25--> 00:13:25

And then,

00:13:26--> 00:13:28

to establish the 2, he sent a 3rd.

00:13:29--> 00:13:31

And even after 3 arrived, they were denied.

00:13:32--> 00:13:33

Someone from them, from the other part of

00:13:33--> 00:13:35

the city had to come and tell them,

00:13:35--> 00:13:36

follow the messengers,

00:13:36--> 00:13:37

subhanallah.

00:13:37--> 00:13:39

That this is mankind sometimes.

00:13:39--> 00:13:42

Now in terms of these messengers, the scholars

00:13:42--> 00:13:44

of tafsir, they have two views regarding them.

00:13:44--> 00:13:47

Some say they were messengers sent by Reesa.

00:13:47--> 00:13:49

They were messengers sent by Isa. So they

00:13:49--> 00:13:51

were not God sent, they were disciples sent

00:13:51--> 00:13:52

by a messenger.

00:13:53--> 00:13:55

And other scholars have opined

00:13:55--> 00:13:58

that these were messengers sent by Allah subhanahu

00:13:58--> 00:14:00

wa ta'ala. So there's 2 views about this.

00:14:03--> 00:14:05

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says that the people

00:14:05--> 00:14:07

of the Antioch denied them

00:14:08--> 00:14:09

and used as evidence

00:14:10--> 00:14:12

the same narrative of the Quraysh towards the

00:14:12--> 00:14:14

prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. They said, you

00:14:14--> 00:14:15

are just humans like us.

00:14:18--> 00:14:20

You are just you are just humans like

00:14:20--> 00:14:22

us. Bring to us something more. If you

00:14:22--> 00:14:25

are truly God sent, if you are messengers

00:14:25--> 00:14:26

with a divine message,

00:14:27--> 00:14:29

then why are you people from us like

00:14:29--> 00:14:31

us? You are human beings. You look like

00:14:31--> 00:14:34

us. You eat. You sleep. You tire. You

00:14:34--> 00:14:36

fatigue and so on and so forth.

00:14:37--> 00:14:38

So what does Allah say?

00:14:40--> 00:14:42

Of course, there's more to the story, but

00:14:42--> 00:14:44

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is revealing what is

00:14:44--> 00:14:46

important to the narrative of Surah Yaseen, and

00:14:46--> 00:14:49

his connection to Surah Fatim. We spoke about

00:14:49--> 00:14:51

them denying the messenger, and Allah is saying,

00:14:51--> 00:14:53

indeed you are the messenger. Allah tells us

00:14:53--> 00:14:55

what these messengers said in response to these

00:14:55--> 00:14:57

people who denied them using evidence that you

00:14:57--> 00:15:00

are humans like us. They said, okay, we

00:15:00--> 00:15:02

do not have proof for you, but it

00:15:02--> 00:15:04

is enough for us that Allah knows that

00:15:04--> 00:15:04

we are godsend.

00:15:06--> 00:15:07

This is enough.

00:15:09--> 00:15:10

It's enough for us to know that we

00:15:10--> 00:15:12

are preaching to you the truth.

00:15:12--> 00:15:14

It's enough for us to know that we

00:15:14--> 00:15:17

were sent by God. It's not a condition

00:15:17--> 00:15:19

for us to prove to you that we

00:15:19--> 00:15:20

have been sent by God for our message

00:15:20--> 00:15:21

to be the truth.

00:15:23--> 00:15:25

Look at this, it is an honor. And

00:15:25--> 00:15:26

time and time again, I've said to you,

00:15:26--> 00:15:28

the Haqq stands by itself.

00:15:28--> 00:15:30

The Haqq stands by itself.

00:15:31--> 00:15:32

The truth stands by itself.

00:15:33--> 00:15:35

It doesn't need no trend, it doesn't need

00:15:35--> 00:15:38

no group, it doesn't need no celebrity,

00:15:38--> 00:15:40

It doesn't need anyone to prop it up.

00:15:40--> 00:15:42

The haqq stands by itself, subhanallah.

00:15:43--> 00:15:44

And it's as if these surahs are preparing

00:15:44--> 00:15:47

us for surah Zumr, Allahu Akbar. Cause remember

00:15:47--> 00:15:49

we said these 3 surahs of Tuhhid. I

00:15:49--> 00:15:51

mentioned this to you during surahul An'am, in

00:15:51--> 00:15:53

the Quran, or they are known as the

00:15:53--> 00:15:55

surahs of Tuhhid. Surahul Ikhlas,

00:15:55--> 00:15:56

Surah Al An'am,

00:15:56--> 00:15:57

and Surah Al Zumr.

00:15:59--> 00:16:01

These are the surahs that established Tawhid.

00:16:03--> 00:16:05

The longest surah tul Anam, the shortest is

00:16:05--> 00:16:07

alikhlas. The middle surah is Zumr.

00:16:09--> 00:16:10

That Zumr is coming, it is enough that

00:16:10--> 00:16:12

it's come and it's told you. That's it.

00:16:12--> 00:16:13

The truth stands by itself.

00:16:14--> 00:16:16

It's enough that it is revealed to you

00:16:16--> 00:16:17

as the truth. So this is what the

00:16:17--> 00:16:20

messenger said. Fine. No problem. We humans like

00:16:20--> 00:16:22

you, but that doesn't put us in an

00:16:22--> 00:16:23

inferiority complex.

00:16:24--> 00:16:25

It is enough for us that Allah knows

00:16:25--> 00:16:28

we are godsent, and we are not asked

00:16:28--> 00:16:29

except to convey. Subhanallah.

00:16:30--> 00:16:32

And this is another important lesson here.

00:16:33--> 00:16:35

And Allah is teaching the messenger, sallallahu alaihi

00:16:35--> 00:16:37

wa sallam, through these stories as well. It's

00:16:37--> 00:16:39

not only the Quraysh receiving. Remember the Rasoolallah

00:16:39--> 00:16:41

salallahu alaihi wa sallam is receiving and he's

00:16:41--> 00:16:43

teaching, because he's a human being too.

00:16:44--> 00:16:46

Being battled by his own people,

00:16:47--> 00:16:49

who testified that he was the most trustworthy

00:16:49--> 00:16:51

and honest one amidst them. They will not

00:16:51--> 00:16:52

doubt any word that came out from his

00:16:52--> 00:16:54

mouth, but regarding this message,

00:16:55--> 00:16:57

everything has turned on him. They've called him

00:16:57--> 00:17:00

names. They've launched a propaganda campaign,

00:17:00--> 00:17:01

a character assassination

00:17:01--> 00:17:02

program,

00:17:03--> 00:17:05

strategic program, subhanAllah,

00:17:05--> 00:17:07

whereby even when the Muslims went to Habashah,

00:17:07--> 00:17:08

they sent

00:17:09--> 00:17:11

a protocol to Habashah to make sure that

00:17:11--> 00:17:13

the propaganda reached at Najash.

00:17:14--> 00:17:15

This was what was laid upon the prophet

00:17:15--> 00:17:17

sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. So you have to

00:17:17--> 00:17:19

imagine, the Quran is coming to him, that

00:17:19--> 00:17:22

he sallallahu alaihi wasallam first and foremost, he's

00:17:22--> 00:17:24

taking inspiration from this. That, subhanallah,

00:17:25--> 00:17:27

there were 3 messengers who went, and the

00:17:27--> 00:17:29

people still denied them.

00:17:29--> 00:17:31

So it's not personal that I'm going through

00:17:31--> 00:17:33

this journey and being tested as well.

00:17:33--> 00:17:35

This is life. This is how human beings

00:17:35--> 00:17:35

are.

00:17:37--> 00:17:39

And in Suratul Safat,

00:17:39--> 00:17:40

Allah

00:17:40--> 00:17:41

says, muhsinun

00:17:41--> 00:17:42

wawwalimulinafsihi

00:17:43--> 00:17:45

Mubin, subhanallah, as we heard in the tarawih

00:17:45--> 00:17:47

today. That from the progeny

00:17:48--> 00:17:49

of these prophets

00:17:49--> 00:17:51

were those who are muhsin, who are excellent,

00:17:52--> 00:17:54

and there were those who oppressed themselves. But

00:17:54--> 00:17:55

subhanallah,

00:17:55--> 00:17:58

there are times when the majority oppressed themselves.

00:17:59--> 00:18:02

When Allah tells us in Surah Safat about

00:18:02--> 00:18:03

the people of Yunus

00:18:06--> 00:18:08

Yunus was sent to more than 100,000,

00:18:08--> 00:18:11

and they denied him, but he became angry

00:18:11--> 00:18:13

and left them. Then Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

00:18:13--> 00:18:15

sent them the signs, the heavy clouds, and

00:18:15--> 00:18:17

they they remembered what Yunus told them about

00:18:17--> 00:18:19

nuh, and they said this is probably

00:18:20--> 00:18:21

the adab, the punishment that he's been talking

00:18:21--> 00:18:23

about, so they all accept it. They

00:18:25--> 00:18:28

believed, so we preserved them for a period

00:18:28--> 00:18:29

of time.

00:18:30--> 00:18:32

So sometimes the majority can deny, and sometimes

00:18:32--> 00:18:35

the majority can become guided.

00:18:36--> 00:18:37

And a lot of the times

00:18:46--> 00:18:47

about the

00:18:50--> 00:18:51

majority.

00:18:51--> 00:18:53

That if you do follow the majority of

00:18:53--> 00:18:55

people on earth, they'll take you away from

00:18:55--> 00:18:56

the path of Allah. They'll take you to

00:18:56--> 00:18:58

the wrong path. And as for the

00:19:04--> 00:19:06

That if the truth had to follow the

00:19:06--> 00:19:07

desires of people,

00:19:08--> 00:19:11

the hell corruption would cover the heavens and

00:19:11--> 00:19:12

the earth and everything in between.

00:19:13--> 00:19:15

If the Haqq had to follow the desires

00:19:15--> 00:19:16

of people,

00:19:16--> 00:19:18

the wounds and fancies of people,

00:19:19--> 00:19:20

corruption would ensue.

00:19:21--> 00:19:23

So the Haqq stands by itself.

00:19:23--> 00:19:26

And the messenger that preaches the Haqq, his

00:19:26--> 00:19:28

job is just to convey. It's as if

00:19:28--> 00:19:30

Allah is teaching. Allah is teaching the Messenger

00:19:30--> 00:19:33

Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam here. That do not be

00:19:33--> 00:19:36

saddened, do not be broken by the attitude

00:19:36--> 00:19:38

towards you. We didn't send you to convert,

00:19:39--> 00:19:40

we sent you to convey.

00:19:40--> 00:19:43

So the Allah is saying these messengers said

00:19:43--> 00:19:44

to Ashab Al Qariyah,

00:19:45--> 00:19:47

we Allah has not asked except for us

00:19:47--> 00:19:48

to convey, not to convert.

00:19:49--> 00:19:51

That the reward is in conveyance, not conversion.

00:19:52--> 00:19:53

That we are already rewarded. We're not at

00:19:53--> 00:19:54

a loss here.

00:19:55--> 00:19:57

Our salvation with our Lord is not in

00:19:57--> 00:19:58

you accepting our message.

00:19:59--> 00:20:01

Our salvation with our Lord is in us

00:20:01--> 00:20:03

conveying the message.

00:20:04--> 00:20:06

In terms of your attitude with the message,

00:20:06--> 00:20:07

that is between you and your Lord.

00:20:08--> 00:20:08

Subhanallah.

00:20:09--> 00:20:11

And yesterday, we were building on the discussion

00:20:11--> 00:20:13

about how Allah revealed

00:20:14--> 00:20:17

at Tashari alayhi salami alayhi tanabi malbaitin Nabawi.

00:20:18--> 00:20:19

We spoke about this.

00:20:19--> 00:20:21

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in Surat Al Hazab.

00:20:22--> 00:20:24

He revealed the verses pertaining to the laws

00:20:24--> 00:20:25

of the prophetic household,

00:20:26--> 00:20:28

and the mothers of the believers,

00:20:28--> 00:20:30

and the women to come thereafter.

00:20:31--> 00:20:32

That at the end of the day, it's

00:20:32--> 00:20:33

a matter of conveyance.

00:20:34--> 00:20:36

Once the truth is established, may Allah save

00:20:36--> 00:20:38

us. Because the matter then is between the

00:20:38--> 00:20:40

people who received the truth, and their Lord.

00:20:41--> 00:20:43

Allah will judge them based on their actions.

00:20:43--> 00:20:47

But is conveyance enough? No. They said, balaag

00:20:47--> 00:20:48

almubeen,

00:20:48--> 00:20:49

subhanAllah.

00:20:49--> 00:20:52

The messenger is being taught here as well.

00:20:52--> 00:20:54

That not only are you supposed to convey,

00:20:54--> 00:20:56

but your conveyance has to be clear.

00:20:56--> 00:20:59

Mubin, it has to be clear. Meaning,

00:21:00--> 00:21:00

balaagh

00:21:01--> 00:21:02

refers to something reaching

00:21:03--> 00:21:04

in the Arabic language.

00:21:05--> 00:21:07

So the truth that you project has to

00:21:07--> 00:21:08

reach the people.

00:21:08--> 00:21:09

Mubin means

00:21:10--> 00:21:13

what you preach that reaches the people has

00:21:13--> 00:21:15

to be understood by them. The message has

00:21:15--> 00:21:15

to be clear.

00:21:16--> 00:21:18

So the challenge on the dairy

00:21:18--> 00:21:21

is to figure out the vernacular of the

00:21:21--> 00:21:22

people,

00:21:23--> 00:21:24

the attitudes of the people,

00:21:27--> 00:21:29

the conversational tones of the people,

00:21:30--> 00:21:32

and then strategize how to present this truth

00:21:32--> 00:21:34

in a manner that's palatable to them. Once

00:21:34--> 00:21:36

the day'i has done this,

00:21:36--> 00:21:38

the reward is with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

00:21:38--> 00:21:40

and their process and job is complete.

00:21:40--> 00:21:42

So these messengers, Allah, is telling us what

00:21:42--> 00:21:44

they said to the people, that our job

00:21:44--> 00:21:46

is to convey a clear conveyance. So the

00:21:46--> 00:21:49

prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam is receiving this inspiration

00:21:49--> 00:21:52

that he not focus on the people's attitude

00:21:52--> 00:21:54

towards him, but rather he focus on the

00:21:54--> 00:21:57

clarity of his conveyance of the message to

00:21:57--> 00:21:58

the people.

00:21:58--> 00:22:01

So this is with this is, the story

00:22:01--> 00:22:03

of the Antioch, the people of the Antioch.

00:22:03--> 00:22:05

Anyway, Allah tells us that they arrogantly re

00:22:05--> 00:22:07

responded, and they said, not only are you

00:22:07--> 00:22:08

people like us.

00:22:09--> 00:22:11

As scholars of tafsir say, when these when

00:22:11--> 00:22:13

these messengers came for 3 days, rain didn't

00:22:13--> 00:22:15

fall. So they said, we want to add

00:22:16--> 00:22:18

to why we disbelieve in you. Not only

00:22:18--> 00:22:19

are you human beings, but we think you

00:22:19--> 00:22:21

are sorcerers and magicians. You've come with bad

00:22:21--> 00:22:21

omens.

00:22:23--> 00:22:25

You've come with bad omens. That this rain

00:22:25--> 00:22:27

has stopped because of you. You are bad

00:22:27--> 00:22:27

people.

00:22:29--> 00:22:30

So Allah knows

00:22:30--> 00:22:33

best. They said, if you do not lift

00:22:33--> 00:22:35

the omen this omen, if the rain doesn't

00:22:35--> 00:22:37

return, we will stone you and we will

00:22:37--> 00:22:39

persecute you. This is exactly what the prophet

00:22:39--> 00:22:42

sallallahu alaihi wasallam was going through. Imagine he's

00:22:42--> 00:22:43

going through this and Allah is revealing to

00:22:43--> 00:22:45

him. He's going through this and Allah is

00:22:45--> 00:22:46

revealing to him. And that is why my

00:22:46--> 00:22:49

brother and sister in Islam, yesterday we spoke

00:22:49--> 00:22:51

about this. Right? We said that when people

00:22:51--> 00:22:52

struggle

00:22:52--> 00:22:55

to follow the laws of Allah, it's connected

00:22:55--> 00:22:56

to weakness in iman.

00:22:58--> 00:22:59

It is.

00:22:59--> 00:23:02

And when imaan is high, people adopt the

00:23:02--> 00:23:04

rose of Allah easily.

00:23:06--> 00:23:08

To build your imaan, you have to be

00:23:08--> 00:23:09

close to the Quran.

00:23:10--> 00:23:12

The prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is going through

00:23:12--> 00:23:14

this difficult mission,

00:23:15--> 00:23:17

and Allah is revealing to him the Quran.

00:23:18--> 00:23:21

And think about this, Surah Al Muzammil,

00:23:21--> 00:23:23

one of the earliest surahs revealed. In it,

00:23:24--> 00:23:26

Allah is commanding the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam,

00:23:28--> 00:23:29

Stand the night

00:23:30--> 00:23:32

except for a little. Nisfah hoo half of

00:23:32--> 00:23:33

it. Or

00:23:34--> 00:23:36

a little bit less than half. Or

00:23:36--> 00:23:38

a little bit than

00:23:38--> 00:23:39

half.

00:23:41--> 00:23:43

And recite the Quran a clear recitation.

00:23:44--> 00:23:46

Think about this, how many verses did he

00:23:46--> 00:23:46

have with him

00:23:48--> 00:23:49

If you're gonna stand half the night, how

00:23:49--> 00:23:50

many ayaat do you need?

00:23:51--> 00:23:52

In 1 and a half hours we stand

00:23:52--> 00:23:54

in the tarawee, how many verses do we

00:23:54--> 00:23:56

recite? How many verses did he have sallallahu

00:23:56--> 00:23:58

alaihi wa sallam? A handful of verses.

00:23:59--> 00:24:01

And he's standing half the night, a little

00:24:01--> 00:24:02

bit more than the night, which means what?

00:24:02--> 00:24:03

He's repeating these verses.

00:24:06--> 00:24:08

This is He's repeating and repeating

00:24:08--> 00:24:10

and repeating and repeating.

00:24:10--> 00:24:13

As you repeat these verses, they become intrinsic

00:24:13--> 00:24:15

in you. They become a part of your

00:24:15--> 00:24:18

heart, a part of your soul, a part

00:24:18--> 00:24:20

of your body, a part of your mind.

00:24:21--> 00:24:21

SubhanAllah.

00:24:22--> 00:24:24

It becomes a part of you. Today, they

00:24:24--> 00:24:27

talk about NLP training, neuro linguistic programming through

00:24:27--> 00:24:28

language and repetition.

00:24:30--> 00:24:31

Paradigms are shifted

00:24:32--> 00:24:33

and stationed.

00:24:33--> 00:24:35

I'm not gonna connect this to that,

00:24:36--> 00:24:37

but the idea is there, that, subhanallah,

00:24:38--> 00:24:39

that as you repeat, as you read, and

00:24:39--> 00:24:41

Allah is revealing to you surah after surah,

00:24:42--> 00:24:45

sometimes using the narrative approach, sometimes using stories

00:24:45--> 00:24:46

from the people of the past to consolidate

00:24:46--> 00:24:47

the narrative,

00:24:47--> 00:24:49

This establishes you as a dahi, and it

00:24:49--> 00:24:52

establishes you on the truth, and it removes

00:24:52--> 00:24:54

from you the inferiority complex.

00:24:54--> 00:24:56

So I know we say that this is

00:24:56--> 00:24:58

a Maqkan Surah, this is a Maqkan Surah,

00:24:58--> 00:25:00

this is a Maqkan Surah, and the genre

00:25:00--> 00:25:02

of knowledge of the Maqkan Surah apply to

00:25:02--> 00:25:04

these Surahs. The genre of knowledge from the

00:25:04--> 00:25:07

Maqkan Surahs apply to these Surahs, establishing Allah

00:25:07--> 00:25:10

as Allah, oneness in his worship, oneness in

00:25:10--> 00:25:12

his lordship, the messenger has God sent. The

00:25:12--> 00:25:14

Quran has a book from him that there's

00:25:14--> 00:25:16

life after death, life that there's a day

00:25:17--> 00:25:19

of. Yes. This is repeated throughout, but

00:25:19--> 00:25:21

not in a way that tires you, in

00:25:21--> 00:25:24

a way that only empowers you and constantly

00:25:24--> 00:25:26

empowers you because the journey is long, and

00:25:26--> 00:25:28

the mission is hard, and the people are

00:25:28--> 00:25:30

many, and there's no prophet to come after

00:25:30--> 00:25:31

the messenger.

00:25:31--> 00:25:33

The hope of the ummah is upon the

00:25:33--> 00:25:36

ummah of Muhammad ibn Abdullah sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

00:25:38--> 00:25:41

You are the best of people. Why? Because

00:25:41--> 00:25:43

you collectively carry the greatest legacy the world

00:25:43--> 00:25:45

ever experienced, the legacy of Nubuwa that was

00:25:45--> 00:25:46

revealed upon

00:25:50--> 00:25:52

The first quarter of the 6 Jews.

00:25:53--> 00:25:55

That indeed we have revealed to you, oh

00:25:55--> 00:25:56

Muhammad, this legacy

00:25:56--> 00:25:59

as we revealed it upon Nuuh first and

00:25:59--> 00:26:00

the prophets between you.

00:26:02--> 00:26:04

But with no prophet to come after Muhammad,

00:26:04--> 00:26:06

the only ambassadors of this legacy will be

00:26:06--> 00:26:09

the ummah of Muhammad, that no one man

00:26:09--> 00:26:11

will carry this legacy from now on. After

00:26:11--> 00:26:14

Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam, the legacy of Nabuwa

00:26:14--> 00:26:17

will be carried collectively by an ummah. And

00:26:17--> 00:26:19

as such, the prophets were the best of

00:26:19--> 00:26:21

all individuals, but now we will have the

00:26:21--> 00:26:22

best of all nations.

00:26:23--> 00:26:25

We are custodians of the legacy,

00:26:25--> 00:26:26

and that's why the Maqq and Surahs are

00:26:26--> 00:26:27

important to us.

00:26:28--> 00:26:30

Very important, my dear brothers and sisters in

00:26:31--> 00:26:34

Islam. Surat Safat, another Maqkan Surah,

00:26:34--> 00:26:35

182 verses.

00:26:36--> 00:26:38

In Surah Ya Seen, and we'll connect the

00:26:38--> 00:26:39

2, Allah says,

00:26:45--> 00:26:48

Generally, Allah says, Have they not considered how

00:26:48--> 00:26:50

many generations we destroyed before them?

00:26:51--> 00:26:51

Okay.

00:26:52--> 00:26:53

Who are these generations?

00:26:53--> 00:26:55

The details come in Surah Safat.

00:26:56--> 00:26:58

Yaseen is just a general idea. If you

00:26:58--> 00:27:00

have the question, the answer is in Surah

00:27:00--> 00:27:00

Safat.

00:27:01--> 00:27:04

Allah mentions nation, after nation, after nation, after

00:27:04--> 00:27:04

nation.

00:27:05--> 00:27:07

Surah Safaat is like Surah Turkamr.

00:27:08--> 00:27:09

Or those surah, subhanAllah, that when you read

00:27:09--> 00:27:11

it, you thank Allah that you're on the

00:27:11--> 00:27:12

right side of the line.

00:27:15--> 00:27:16

When you read it, and you read it

00:27:16--> 00:27:18

as part of the family of la ilaha

00:27:18--> 00:27:19

illallah,

00:27:19--> 00:27:22

you can breathe. Because honestly, if you're not,

00:27:22--> 00:27:23

it's severe.

00:27:24--> 00:27:27

It's severe. We'll come to Surat Al Qamar

00:27:27--> 00:27:29

on 27th, InshaAllah. 26th night, we will cover

00:27:29--> 00:27:31

the 27th Jews. Surat Al Qamar.

00:27:35--> 00:27:36

Allah breaks it up,

00:27:37--> 00:27:37

eloquently

00:27:37--> 00:27:40

hits us with a people who denied their

00:27:40--> 00:27:42

messenger and what Allah did with them, and

00:27:42--> 00:27:44

then eloquently cuts it with.

00:27:47--> 00:27:48

We made the Quran easy for you to

00:27:48--> 00:27:52

understand. Will you understand it? Surah Safat, similar

00:27:52--> 00:27:54

approach. Allah mentions to us a people, their

00:27:54--> 00:27:57

denial, and what Allah did to them, and

00:27:57--> 00:27:59

then Allah cuts it with

00:28:02--> 00:28:04

That when you when you read the Surah,

00:28:04--> 00:28:06

and Allah says the only one saved

00:28:07--> 00:28:08

were the sincere,

00:28:08--> 00:28:09

devoted, righteous

00:28:10--> 00:28:12

worshipers of Allah. You say, Alhamdulillah,

00:28:12--> 00:28:14

I'm reading the surah, and I'm from the

00:28:14--> 00:28:16

family of La ilaha illallah Muhammad Rasulullah.

00:28:17--> 00:28:19

Because Allah mentions asthumba ghrakhnaal akhareen.

00:28:22--> 00:28:24

And then he mentions how he destroyed a

00:28:24--> 00:28:26

people in with regards to other

00:28:43--> 00:28:43

Allah

00:28:44--> 00:28:45

tells about them. And Allah tells us what

00:28:45--> 00:28:47

he did with those who denied Musa.

00:28:56--> 00:28:58

The message of the messengers, they were conveying

00:28:58--> 00:29:00

one after the other, conveying, conveying, conveying.

00:29:06--> 00:29:08

All those who denied, denied.

00:29:08--> 00:29:10

But Allah, when he punish them, he saved

00:29:10--> 00:29:11

the group. Who?

00:29:12--> 00:29:15

Those who were from the righteous believers in

00:29:17--> 00:29:19

Allah. Is empowering allahi for the believer.

00:29:19--> 00:29:22

Again, we don't need an inferiority complex.

00:29:23--> 00:29:24

Things take

00:29:24--> 00:29:26

time, and everything is in the qadr and

00:29:26--> 00:29:27

plan of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.

00:29:28--> 00:29:30

Through this Allah will raise who he raises,

00:29:30--> 00:29:32

and through this Allah will debase who he

00:29:32--> 00:29:32

debases.

00:29:35--> 00:29:37

Allah will separate the the kabeed from the

00:29:37--> 00:29:37

tayef.

00:29:38--> 00:29:39

This is the reality, my dear brothers and

00:29:39--> 00:29:41

sisters in Islam, of the life of this

00:29:41--> 00:29:44

world and the guidance of the Quran regarding

00:29:44--> 00:29:45

it. So when it comes to the truth

00:29:45--> 00:29:46

again, I

00:29:47--> 00:29:48

I implore

00:29:48--> 00:29:50

you, my dear brother and sister in Islam,

00:29:50--> 00:29:52

do not do gymnastics with it.

00:29:52--> 00:29:54

You know the statement in the English language,

00:29:54--> 00:29:56

less is more. This applies to the Haqq.

00:29:57--> 00:29:59

Less is more applies to the haqq.

00:30:00--> 00:30:01

When you take the haqq and you try

00:30:01--> 00:30:04

and do gymnastics with it, and stretch it,

00:30:04--> 00:30:05

and crunch

00:30:05--> 00:30:07

it, and bend it, and fold it,

00:30:08--> 00:30:09

you're taking away from it.

00:30:10--> 00:30:11

You're taking away from it.

00:30:12--> 00:30:14

And then what are you doing in terms

00:30:14--> 00:30:16

of your respect to the one who sent

00:30:16--> 00:30:17

it? SubhanAllah.

00:30:19--> 00:30:20

So that is Surah Safat. Then we come

00:30:20--> 00:30:21

to Surah Sad.

00:30:22--> 00:30:23

Again.

00:30:24--> 00:30:26

It's a hit today, potent hit.

00:30:26--> 00:30:27

Potent hit.

00:30:29--> 00:30:30

Then we have Surasat.

00:30:30--> 00:30:33

88 verses called Surasat because of the opening.

00:30:34--> 00:30:36

It's connection to Suras Safat. Well, towards the

00:30:36--> 00:30:38

end, the disbelievers say, if only we got

00:30:38--> 00:30:41

this message from those before, we would have

00:30:41--> 00:30:42

been righteous worshipers,

00:30:42--> 00:30:43

as

00:30:43--> 00:30:44

read.

00:30:45--> 00:30:47

This is what they said. They said this

00:30:47--> 00:30:47

message,

00:30:50--> 00:30:51

If it was something that we got from

00:30:51--> 00:30:53

the people before, we would have believed and

00:30:53--> 00:30:54

followed.

00:30:54--> 00:30:57

In surasat, Allah opens it by confirming that

00:30:57--> 00:30:58

this dhikr

00:30:58--> 00:30:59

has arrived.

00:31:01--> 00:31:02

And if you read it, you will see

00:31:02--> 00:31:04

the confirmation that it did exist before.

00:31:05--> 00:31:05

Meaning,

00:31:06--> 00:31:08

you not having knowledge

00:31:08--> 00:31:11

of it having existed before does not mean

00:31:11--> 00:31:12

that it didn't exist before.

00:31:13--> 00:31:15

This is a logical

00:31:16--> 00:31:17

principle as well.

00:31:24--> 00:31:26

Not having knowledge of something existing doesn't mean

00:31:26--> 00:31:27

that it didn't exist.

00:31:28--> 00:31:30

So you're saying if only we had knowledge

00:31:30--> 00:31:31

of it existing before we would have been

00:31:31--> 00:31:33

followers, that's what they said at the end

00:31:33--> 00:31:35

of Surah Safat, Allah opens Surah

00:31:53--> 00:31:55

Quran will prove that it existed before. Read

00:31:55--> 00:31:57

it. So this is his connection.

00:31:57--> 00:31:58

SubhanAllah.

00:31:59--> 00:32:00

In Surasad,

00:32:01--> 00:32:03

the topic related to Maqk and Surahs

00:32:03--> 00:32:06

and in particular, tuhid, nubuwa, life after death,

00:32:06--> 00:32:07

all this is

00:32:08--> 00:32:09

presented to us.

00:32:10--> 00:32:11

It also shares the reason for denial,

00:32:12--> 00:32:14

why people deny the Haqq, and we spoke

00:32:14--> 00:32:16

about this in length when we discussed Surat

00:32:16--> 00:32:17

Al Aaraf.

00:32:17--> 00:32:18

What did we say at the top of

00:32:18--> 00:32:19

it was

00:32:19--> 00:32:20

Arrogance.

00:32:21--> 00:32:22

And then Allah shares the story of the

00:32:22--> 00:32:25

people of Nuh and Ad and Firaun and

00:32:25--> 00:32:26

Thamud and Lut,

00:32:26--> 00:32:27

generally.

00:32:27--> 00:32:29

And then he details for us a little

00:32:29--> 00:32:31

bit more. He gives us the stories of

00:32:31--> 00:32:33

Dawud and Suleyman and Ayub with a little

00:32:33--> 00:32:34

bit more detail.

00:32:35--> 00:32:38

And Allah tells us in particular, and remember

00:32:38--> 00:32:40

the prophet salallahu alaihi wa sallam is receiving

00:32:40--> 00:32:42

this because he's being tested. Allah tells us

00:32:42--> 00:32:43

how he tested

00:32:44--> 00:32:45

these three prophets.

00:32:46--> 00:32:48

He tested Dawood in his position.

00:32:48--> 00:32:50

He tested suleiman

00:32:50--> 00:32:50

circumstantially.

00:32:51--> 00:32:54

He tested Ayub alaihi salam with his health,

00:32:54--> 00:32:56

and his wealth, and his family. Ayub.

00:33:00--> 00:33:01

They were tested.

00:33:01--> 00:33:03

The Prophet is learning that your brothers from

00:33:03--> 00:33:05

the prophets before, they were also tested and

00:33:05--> 00:33:06

tested heaven.

00:33:07--> 00:33:09

So Allah reveals this also in Surat Saad.

00:33:09--> 00:33:10

InshaAllah, when you go home you can read

00:33:10--> 00:33:11

about this.

00:33:11--> 00:33:13

And in these stories are lessons

00:33:14--> 00:33:16

for those who deny.

00:33:16--> 00:33:18

That the end will be doom and gloom,

00:33:18--> 00:33:21

just as you heard in Surah Safat.

00:33:21--> 00:33:23

The end will be doom and gloom for

00:33:23--> 00:33:24

those who deny.

00:33:24--> 00:33:26

Then Surah Zumar came, Sufli.

00:33:27--> 00:33:29

And as we said, it's the surah of

00:33:29--> 00:33:30

Tuhid,

00:33:31--> 00:33:33

and it is an explanation of the verse

00:33:33--> 00:33:33

in the Quran,

00:33:36--> 00:33:37

if I can collect it to the 1st

00:33:37--> 00:33:38

night of Ramadan.

00:33:39--> 00:33:41

Why is Suratul Zumr called Zumr? Because Allah

00:33:41--> 00:33:44

subhanahu wa ta'ala in Surat Zumr discusses especially

00:33:44--> 00:33:45

at the end of groups.

00:33:50--> 00:33:51

Those who disbelieve,

00:33:54--> 00:33:55

Those who believe

00:33:57--> 00:33:59

groups. It's a story of groups

00:33:59--> 00:34:01

and different types of groups

00:34:01--> 00:34:02

and how the ending

00:34:03--> 00:34:05

ended up being. This is Surat

00:34:05--> 00:34:06

Azumar.

00:34:07--> 00:34:09

What is it connection the connection of Surat

00:34:09--> 00:34:11

Zumr to Surat Sad?

00:34:11--> 00:34:13

In Surat Zumr, right at the end, Allah

00:34:13--> 00:34:14

says,

00:34:17--> 00:34:19

That this Quran is nothing but a reminder

00:34:20--> 00:34:20

to the worlds.

00:34:21--> 00:34:22

And then, Subhanallah,

00:34:23--> 00:34:25

Surah Zumr begins in a way very unique,

00:34:25--> 00:34:27

different to other Surahs that normally would begin

00:34:28--> 00:34:30

in this manner. There's no disjointed letters.

00:34:31--> 00:34:31

Immediately.

00:34:38--> 00:34:40

So Surah Asad ends with this Quran is

00:34:40--> 00:34:43

nothing but a reminder to the world, and

00:34:43--> 00:34:44

then you read the next verse, Surah Zumr

00:34:44--> 00:34:46

of the first verse, the revelation of Quran

00:34:46--> 00:34:48

is from Allah, the exalted in might the

00:34:48--> 00:34:49

wise.

00:34:49--> 00:34:50

What a connection, subhanallah.

00:34:52--> 00:34:52

Amazing.

00:34:53--> 00:34:53

Amazing.

00:34:55--> 00:34:55

Amazing.

00:34:56--> 00:34:58

It's as if you read,

00:34:59--> 00:35:00

it is nothing but a reminder to the

00:35:00--> 00:35:02

world, then you say, well, who revealed this

00:35:02--> 00:35:02

reminder?

00:35:03--> 00:35:06

Tanzil kitab min Allahi lazizil Hakim. The question

00:35:06--> 00:35:08

you seek, the answer is coming to you

00:35:08--> 00:35:09

in the next verse. The revelation of the

00:35:09--> 00:35:11

Quran from Allah, the exalted

00:35:12--> 00:35:12

in might.

00:35:14--> 00:35:16

At the end of Surah Saad, Allah mentions

00:35:16--> 00:35:17

the creation of Adam

00:35:18--> 00:35:19

and the story of Adam, and we had

00:35:19--> 00:35:22

this in the recitation today. In Surah Zumr,

00:35:22--> 00:35:24

and we will see this tomorrow as well.

00:35:24--> 00:35:25

Allah mentions the circumstances

00:35:25--> 00:35:28

surrounding the children of Adam. Then we have

00:35:28--> 00:35:28

Adam

00:35:29--> 00:35:31

in the Surah Zumr, the Surah after

00:35:31--> 00:35:34

the children of Adam from beginning till end.

00:35:34--> 00:35:36

Like we said, the groups and where they

00:35:36--> 00:35:38

end up in Jannah or Jannah. So look

00:35:38--> 00:35:39

out for this in tomorrow's recitation.

00:35:40--> 00:35:42

Okay. Very quickly, some noticeable verses

00:35:42--> 00:35:44

from tonight's recitation.

00:35:44--> 00:35:46

There were many. From them,

00:35:55--> 00:35:56

Such a short ayah,

00:35:57--> 00:35:59

but it's a standout ayah. Allah says and

00:35:59--> 00:36:02

stop them indeed they are to be questioned.

00:36:03--> 00:36:05

This is regarding the day of Qiyam.

00:36:06--> 00:36:08

Adi radiAllahu an was asked, how will Allah

00:36:08--> 00:36:10

question his slaves?

00:36:11--> 00:36:13

And Adi says,

00:36:13--> 00:36:17

Allah will audit their day in the same

00:36:17--> 00:36:19

way he provided for them in that day.

00:36:21--> 00:36:22

Think about this.

00:36:23--> 00:36:24

A few words from Ali

00:36:25--> 00:36:26

were very telling.

00:36:26--> 00:36:30

In our day, Allah gives us breaths. He

00:36:30--> 00:36:31

gives us heartbeats.

00:36:31--> 00:36:34

He gives us brings of our These are

00:36:34--> 00:36:34

all moments.

00:36:35--> 00:36:37

Allah is Al Khalak. He's the creator of

00:36:37--> 00:36:38

all these moments.

00:36:38--> 00:36:39

He gives us sustenance.

00:36:41--> 00:36:43

Between our breath are moments.

00:36:43--> 00:36:45

During our breath, there's a moment.

00:36:46--> 00:36:48

This is all sustenance from Allah.

00:36:49--> 00:36:52

This is all sustenance from Allah. Right now,

00:36:52--> 00:36:53

we are engaged

00:36:53--> 00:36:55

based on the sustenance of Allah Subhanahu Wa

00:36:55--> 00:36:58

Ta'ala. And alhamdulillah, this questioning will be easier.

00:36:58--> 00:37:00

Insha'Allah, our intentions are sincere.

00:37:01--> 00:37:02

Yeah. I mean, no one's here trying to

00:37:02--> 00:37:04

marry a girl or something. I know her

00:37:04--> 00:37:05

father attends, so let me just sit in

00:37:05--> 00:37:06

the gathering.

00:37:06--> 00:37:08

We're sitting of Allah.

00:37:11--> 00:37:13

But you see the point. Imagine you get

00:37:13--> 00:37:15

to the day of qayam and Allah shows

00:37:15--> 00:37:16

you this part of the day. Do you

00:37:16--> 00:37:18

sweat about this or you say,

00:37:19--> 00:37:19

Alhamdulillah?

00:37:21--> 00:37:21

Ma'am.

00:37:22--> 00:37:24

But outside of the masjid, in the marketplace,

00:37:24--> 00:37:26

in the supermarket, at the business,

00:37:27--> 00:37:28

in the gatherings of

00:37:29--> 00:37:30

friends, in the restaurants,

00:37:30--> 00:37:32

when God and Allah present you those moments,

00:37:33--> 00:37:34

will you create will you easily create and

00:37:34--> 00:37:37

say, alhamdulillah, you'll be tripping as the kids

00:37:37--> 00:37:39

say, the youth say. You're tripping,

00:37:40--> 00:37:41

Trepidation.

00:37:42--> 00:37:45

Subhanallah, what? I can't remember. Was something said

00:37:45--> 00:37:46

there? Was there a bit of ghiba and

00:37:46--> 00:37:47

I didn't get up and leave?

00:37:55--> 00:37:56

Okay. You sat, but did you correct? I

00:37:56--> 00:37:58

didn't correct them.

00:37:58--> 00:38:00

I mean, you'll be thinking, isn't it? Here

00:38:00--> 00:38:01

you're sitting, you don't have to worry, only

00:38:01--> 00:38:02

I have to worry.

00:38:03--> 00:38:05

You see, if I say something against what

00:38:05--> 00:38:06

Allah has revealed, then my neck's on the

00:38:06--> 00:38:08

line. But you always say, Allah, we were

00:38:08--> 00:38:10

just sitting and listening. He was there putting

00:38:10--> 00:38:11

the neck on the line preaching,

00:38:12--> 00:38:14

signing on your behalf here

00:38:15--> 00:38:17

Allah. And so we're telling the brothers, leave

00:38:17--> 00:38:18

quietly brothers.

00:38:18--> 00:38:20

So that is not the Masjid is not

00:38:20--> 00:38:21

a witness against you on the day of

00:38:21--> 00:38:22

Qiyam.

00:38:26--> 00:38:28

Think about this especially in light of yesterday's

00:38:28--> 00:38:30

discussion. Allah yesterday, I was I was really

00:38:30--> 00:38:32

jet lagged, allah. You could you might have

00:38:32--> 00:38:34

seen I was struggling with the session, and

00:38:34--> 00:38:35

there were important things to discuss.

00:38:36--> 00:38:38

I didn't mean I'm not apologizing

00:38:38--> 00:38:40

because we preach the Quran, we don't we're

00:38:40--> 00:38:42

not apologetic. But if in the conveyance, it

00:38:42--> 00:38:44

came across as if I was scolding that

00:38:44--> 00:38:45

wasn't intended.

00:38:46--> 00:38:47

It's a topic that is

00:38:48--> 00:38:49

an important topic.

00:38:50--> 00:38:52

And Surah Al Hazab is not gonna last

00:38:52--> 00:38:54

till the end of Ramadan. I only had

00:38:54--> 00:38:56

yesterday, the day of arrival and jet lag

00:38:56--> 00:38:57

to seek to to share it with you.

00:38:57--> 00:38:59

So I had to, as we say, take

00:38:59--> 00:39:00

the bull by the horns.

00:39:01--> 00:39:02

But I only

00:39:02--> 00:39:03

have love for you all

00:39:04--> 00:39:05

and trust

00:39:05--> 00:39:07

that you will receive the message from a

00:39:07--> 00:39:08

heart to a heart.

00:39:09--> 00:39:11

That wallahi, I only intend for you

00:39:12--> 00:39:13

success on the day of qiyam in front

00:39:13--> 00:39:14

of Allah.

00:39:14--> 00:39:15

And culture is not going to bring to

00:39:15--> 00:39:17

you that success necessarily.

00:39:17--> 00:39:20

Wallahi, it isn't. So that's the idea. And

00:39:20--> 00:39:21

what is good for the wives of the

00:39:21--> 00:39:24

messenger? Wallahi, it's good for our wives. What

00:39:24--> 00:39:25

is good for the home of the messenger?

00:39:25--> 00:39:27

Billahi, it's good for our homes.

00:39:27--> 00:39:29

What is good for the daughters of the

00:39:29--> 00:39:30

messenger?

00:39:31--> 00:39:32

Is good for our daughters.

00:39:32--> 00:39:34

This is the reality.

00:39:35--> 00:39:37

Jazakumnaahu khairam. Next ayah.

00:39:40--> 00:39:42

Allah says he will say, by Allah, you

00:39:42--> 00:39:44

almost ruined me. Because Allah in Surah Safat

00:39:44--> 00:39:45

talking about the companionship.

00:39:47--> 00:39:48

About companions.

00:39:49--> 00:39:51

Companions who come to you

00:39:51--> 00:39:53

and make you doubt the truth. They come

00:39:53--> 00:39:55

to you, and bring you alternatives.

00:39:57--> 00:39:58

That which Allah didn't reveal. And if you

00:39:58--> 00:40:00

listen to them, you go astray.

00:40:00--> 00:40:02

In Surat Safat, Allah tells us of a

00:40:02--> 00:40:04

situation whereby a person ended up in Jannah,

00:40:05--> 00:40:07

and his companion is in the hellfire. And

00:40:07--> 00:40:08

he says, tallahi,

00:40:09--> 00:40:11

I swear by Allah, you almost ruined me.

00:40:11--> 00:40:13

If I listen to you, I'll be with

00:40:13--> 00:40:13

you where you

00:40:16--> 00:40:16

are.

00:40:21--> 00:40:21

This is

00:40:22--> 00:40:24

misconception. Someone comes to you and says, guy,

00:40:24--> 00:40:26

what are you talking about life after death?

00:40:26--> 00:40:27

You mean to say when we are bones

00:40:27--> 00:40:29

and turn to dust, we will we will

00:40:29--> 00:40:31

become civilized again thereafter?

00:40:34--> 00:40:36

This is misconception that people feed us with.

00:40:36--> 00:40:38

This person survived because if I listen to

00:40:38--> 00:40:41

you, and I became misconceived as you, Subhanallah,

00:40:41--> 00:40:42

I would be where you are.

00:40:44--> 00:40:46

And you can only deduce from this, and

00:40:46--> 00:40:48

we have the youth over here,

00:40:49--> 00:40:51

the importance of a good friend circle, young

00:40:51--> 00:40:51

boys, young girls.

00:40:53--> 00:40:55

And my parents, wallahi, I have not seen

00:40:55--> 00:40:57

anything that can erode

00:40:57--> 00:40:58

good parenting

00:40:59--> 00:41:00

like bad friend circles.

00:41:00--> 00:41:03

That you raise your child, raise your child,

00:41:03--> 00:41:05

raise your child, raise your child, invest and

00:41:05--> 00:41:07

then, subhanallah, they get a bad friend outside

00:41:07--> 00:41:08

the home.

00:41:08--> 00:41:11

It literally erodes all the values you taught

00:41:11--> 00:41:13

them, all the principles you taught them.

00:41:14--> 00:41:14

And, subhanallah,

00:41:15--> 00:41:17

it is not strange, not strange at all

00:41:17--> 00:41:20

that the prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam, despite

00:41:20--> 00:41:22

having to bring tawhid to the world, spend

00:41:22--> 00:41:24

time teaching the Sahaba about good companions. And

00:41:24--> 00:41:25

even the Quran.

00:41:29--> 00:41:30

Have you ever thought about this? This is

00:41:30--> 00:41:31

a verse about friendship.

00:41:31--> 00:41:32

That all you who believe,

00:41:34--> 00:41:34

gain taqwa.

00:41:35--> 00:41:38

How? By having a righteous friend's sake.

00:41:40--> 00:41:41

It's in the Quran.

00:41:42--> 00:41:44

The prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said

00:41:46--> 00:41:48

a person is upon the deen, upon the

00:41:48--> 00:41:49

way of his friend.

00:41:50--> 00:41:51

And what do we say to the youth?

00:41:52--> 00:41:53

When you have a friend who you like,

00:41:54--> 00:41:56

then really what you're telling that friend you're

00:41:56--> 00:41:57

not really telling that friend, I like you.

00:41:57--> 00:41:59

You are telling that friend, I am like

00:41:59--> 00:42:00

you.

00:42:01--> 00:42:02

Or should I rephrase?

00:42:02--> 00:42:04

When you tell someone, I like you, you

00:42:04--> 00:42:06

are telling them, I am like you.

00:42:09--> 00:42:11

Spend enough time with them, you will actually

00:42:11--> 00:42:11

be them.

00:42:15--> 00:42:17

Accept those who Allah's mercy descends upon.

00:42:18--> 00:42:20

And that's why the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam,

00:42:20--> 00:42:21

and young boys and young girls listen to

00:42:21--> 00:42:24

this. Imagine you are sitting as young Sahaba,

00:42:24--> 00:42:26

at the time of the prophet sallallahu alaihi

00:42:26--> 00:42:27

wasallam, and he's teaching you about

00:42:28--> 00:42:30

this. The prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam tells

00:42:30--> 00:42:33

us Sahaba that the example of a good

00:42:33--> 00:42:36

friend and the example of a bad friend,

00:42:36--> 00:42:38

The example of a good friend is like

00:42:38--> 00:42:39

having a friend who sells perfume.

00:42:41--> 00:42:41

Misk

00:42:41--> 00:42:42

perfume.

00:42:43--> 00:42:45

And the example of having a bad friend

00:42:45--> 00:42:47

is like having a friend who works

00:42:47--> 00:42:49

at the blast furnace,

00:42:49--> 00:42:50

smelting iron.

00:42:51--> 00:42:53

The one who smells iron at the blast

00:42:53--> 00:42:53

furnace.

00:42:54--> 00:42:56

The Surah, the scholars of hadith, they expand

00:42:56--> 00:42:58

on this. They say, look, if you have

00:42:58--> 00:42:59

a friend who sells perfume,

00:43:00--> 00:43:02

if you go visit that friend, and he's

00:43:02--> 00:43:03

a good friend,

00:43:04--> 00:43:05

good friend,

00:43:05--> 00:43:07

he'll take out a whole bottle of perfume

00:43:07--> 00:43:09

and give it to you as a hadiyah.

00:43:14--> 00:43:17

In Malaysia, they made me smell Thailand oud,

00:43:18--> 00:43:18

It was unique,

00:43:19--> 00:43:20

Allah. Allah, it was unique.

00:43:21--> 00:43:22

Thailand oud.

00:43:22--> 00:43:24

I'm not give giving you ideas, Habibi. I'm

00:43:24--> 00:43:26

not asking anyone to give me hadi.

00:43:27--> 00:43:29

Ud. He will give you a bottle of

00:43:29--> 00:43:29

itr.

00:43:30--> 00:43:32

How long will that bottle last you? Months?

00:43:33--> 00:43:35

Weeks? Years? If it's a ud, you just

00:43:35--> 00:43:36

have to put a drop. By the way,

00:43:36--> 00:43:38

that's true. Oud is oud because you put

00:43:38--> 00:43:40

a drop. Some people, subhanallah, you offer them

00:43:40--> 00:43:43

your oud 1500 riyals for a small bottle.

00:43:43--> 00:43:45

They take the thing and they putting it

00:43:45--> 00:43:46

on them, oud, like the cheap one.

00:43:47--> 00:43:48

Finishing

00:43:48--> 00:43:50

finishing the bottle is painful to the heart.

00:43:54--> 00:43:56

And once I did this,

00:43:56--> 00:43:58

offered the person on reed, the root,

00:44:00--> 00:44:01

and he put

00:44:01--> 00:44:03

it, lovely long line,

00:44:03--> 00:44:04

dip dip, Masha

00:44:05--> 00:44:06

Allah, paint job.

00:44:06--> 00:44:08

Then he smelled it, and

00:44:09--> 00:44:11

then he was washing his hand.

00:44:12--> 00:44:13

I don't know if his

00:44:14--> 00:44:15

was stronger than mine.

00:44:18--> 00:44:20

Okay. So he gives you a bottle of

00:44:20--> 00:44:22

Rood, a bottle of perfume. How long is

00:44:22--> 00:44:22

it going to last?

00:44:23--> 00:44:25

A long time, isn't it? So this friend

00:44:25--> 00:44:27

has benefited you for so long.

00:44:27--> 00:44:29

But let's say you visit this friend, and

00:44:29--> 00:44:30

he's not that generous.

00:44:30--> 00:44:32

What does he do? He takes out a

00:44:32--> 00:44:34

bottle of perfume, and he lets you try

00:44:34--> 00:44:34

some. Alhamdulillah.

00:44:35--> 00:44:37

So the whole day, you'll be smelling good.

00:44:38--> 00:44:40

Right? The whole day you'll be smelling good.

00:44:40--> 00:44:42

So you've benefited not for weeks but for

00:44:42--> 00:44:44

a day. It's still a benefit. And if

00:44:44--> 00:44:46

he doesn't give you anything then just being

00:44:46--> 00:44:48

in his environment, there's a lot of perfumes

00:44:48--> 00:44:48

around,

00:44:49--> 00:44:50

the shop smells nice,

00:44:51--> 00:44:52

you stay enough if you spend enough time

00:44:52--> 00:44:54

in that shop, the smells of the shop

00:44:54--> 00:44:56

will settle on your jumper, on your clothes.

00:44:56--> 00:44:58

When you leave that shop, you will smell

00:44:58--> 00:44:59

nice at least for a few hours.

00:45:00--> 00:45:02

You're always in a win win situation when

00:45:02--> 00:45:03

you have a good companion.

00:45:04--> 00:45:07

But if you have a companion that's bad,

00:45:08--> 00:45:09

doesn't remind you of the akhirah,

00:45:10--> 00:45:12

doesn't speak to you about the grave, doesn't

00:45:12--> 00:45:14

remind you to salah, and so on and

00:45:14--> 00:45:16

so forth. It's all about dunya, dunya, dunya,

00:45:16--> 00:45:19

dunya, all the discussions, latest games, latest records.

00:45:19--> 00:45:21

How long are we going to play? Even

00:45:21--> 00:45:22

if not about we'll miss fajr, no, we're

00:45:22--> 00:45:24

going to spend the night.

00:45:24--> 00:45:26

And how are we going to deceive our

00:45:26--> 00:45:26

parents?

00:45:27--> 00:45:28

What plan are we going to put into

00:45:28--> 00:45:31

place? And, and, and, the example of this

00:45:31--> 00:45:33

friend is similar to a nafik al kir.

00:45:33--> 00:45:35

The friend that you have who works at

00:45:35--> 00:45:37

the blast furnace, when you go visit this

00:45:37--> 00:45:37

friend,

00:45:38--> 00:45:39

if you get too close to the blast

00:45:39--> 00:45:41

furnace, a spark will come out and burn

00:45:41--> 00:45:42

all your clothes.

00:45:42--> 00:45:45

It's gonna burn your nice clothes. You've lost.

00:45:45--> 00:45:47

But let's say you say I'm gonna be

00:45:47--> 00:45:48

careful I won't go close to the blast

00:45:48--> 00:45:50

furnace I'm gonna stay a bit back

00:45:50--> 00:45:52

then the black smoke in the room where

00:45:52--> 00:45:54

the blast furnace is is going to taint

00:45:54--> 00:45:56

your white shirt. You're gonna walk out, it's

00:45:56--> 00:45:58

gonna smell, and it's gonna have black marks

00:45:58--> 00:45:59

on it.

00:45:59--> 00:46:01

But let's say you say, I know this

00:46:01--> 00:46:02

is a bad friend. I'm gonna be really

00:46:02--> 00:46:04

careful. My parents said, don't play with this

00:46:04--> 00:46:06

friend. This friend is bad news. But you

00:46:06--> 00:46:09

know what? You know, he's popular at school.

00:46:09--> 00:46:11

So I'm just going to be with him,

00:46:11--> 00:46:12

but I'm gonna be careful.

00:46:14--> 00:46:15

So I'm gonna stand at the door of

00:46:15--> 00:46:17

the blasphemous. I'm not gonna even go into

00:46:17--> 00:46:19

the room. I'm gonna stand at the door.

00:46:19--> 00:46:22

Well, the monoxide's in the air from the

00:46:22--> 00:46:24

blast furnace. Your friend has a gas mask.

00:46:24--> 00:46:24

You don't.

00:46:25--> 00:46:26

You're gonna have to breathe

00:46:27--> 00:46:28

the bad

00:46:28--> 00:46:30

air, and the toxins in the air is

00:46:30--> 00:46:32

gonna enter your lungs.

00:46:32--> 00:46:33

Which means what?

00:46:34--> 00:46:35

Is the prophet

00:46:37--> 00:46:38

The like

00:46:38--> 00:46:40

likening a good friend to a friend who

00:46:40--> 00:46:42

sells perfume and a bad friend to a

00:46:42--> 00:46:44

person who smells iron. Look what we can

00:46:44--> 00:46:46

deduce from it. That when you have a

00:46:46--> 00:46:48

bad friend, no matter how much you try,

00:46:48--> 00:46:49

you will be at a loss.

00:47:05--> 00:47:08

Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala is teaching us here

00:47:08--> 00:47:10

an important lesson pertaining to the Quran that

00:47:10--> 00:47:12

is lost upon most of us.

00:47:12--> 00:47:14

You see brothers and sisters in Islam,

00:47:35--> 00:47:35

Subhanallah.

00:47:35--> 00:47:37

This Quran, Allah didn't reveal so it could

00:47:37--> 00:47:38

just be recited

00:47:39--> 00:47:41

also that you could just listen to it,

00:47:41--> 00:47:43

also so that you could just memorize it.

00:47:44--> 00:47:46

Rather, Allah revealed it so that you can

00:47:46--> 00:47:48

ponder over these verses. And think about this,

00:47:48--> 00:47:50

who is receiving this verse when it's being

00:47:50--> 00:47:51

revealed? Who?

00:47:51--> 00:47:52

The Quraysh,

00:47:53--> 00:47:53

the disbelievers.

00:47:54--> 00:47:56

Allah is saying we revealed it so you

00:47:56--> 00:47:58

can ponder. And those who are objective in

00:47:58--> 00:48:00

their approach with the Quran, they will be

00:48:00--> 00:48:01

guided. If this is a message to the

00:48:01--> 00:48:02

Quraysh, what about the believers?

00:48:07--> 00:48:09

And these books of tafsir that aid this.

00:48:10--> 00:48:12

The book I shared with you yesterday on

00:48:12--> 00:48:14

Surah Yusuf, the aim, one of the objectives

00:48:14--> 00:48:15

from it is to bring about the idea

00:48:15--> 00:48:17

of the dabbur, and that's why we have

00:48:17--> 00:48:19

these trigger boxes in there,

00:48:19--> 00:48:21

to help you ponder and apply the lesson

00:48:21--> 00:48:22

to your daily life.

00:48:23--> 00:48:24

Ponder over the book. This is one of

00:48:24--> 00:48:26

the greatest Ibadah that you can do especially

00:48:26--> 00:48:28

in Ramadan with the book of Allah Subhanahu

00:48:28--> 00:48:30

Wa Ta'ala. In fact, Ibn Al Qayy mentions

00:48:31--> 00:48:32

in his tafsir of the verse in Surat

00:48:32--> 00:48:35

Al Furqan, when the Prophet salallahu alaihi wa

00:48:35--> 00:48:36

sallam will complain to Allah.

00:48:37--> 00:48:38

The prophets complain to Allah.

00:48:41--> 00:48:44

That indeed my people have taken this Quran

00:48:44--> 00:48:45

as something abandoned.

00:48:47--> 00:48:48

Subhanallah.

00:48:49--> 00:48:51

You've taken the Quran as something abandoned. He

00:48:51--> 00:48:53

says, ibn al Qayim, one of the ways

00:48:53--> 00:48:55

that you abandon the Quran is by not

00:48:55--> 00:48:57

pondering over the verses of the Quran.

00:49:00--> 00:49:01

Allah

00:49:03--> 00:49:05

protect us from this.

00:49:05--> 00:49:08

Now people say, Sheikh, but Arabic I don't

00:49:08--> 00:49:09

have Arabic. How do I ponder? Brother and

00:49:09--> 00:49:11

sister, in Islam, pondering is at levels. Tadabbur

00:49:12--> 00:49:12

is at levels.

00:49:13--> 00:49:16

Tadabbur is not tafsir, firstly. People say wallahi

00:49:16--> 00:49:18

tafsir, we're not allowed to do tafsir, we're

00:49:18--> 00:49:19

not a scholar, we don't know the Quran.

00:49:19--> 00:49:21

Yes, you're not allowed to do tafsir. Correct.

00:49:22--> 00:49:24

The dabboor isn't tafsir. The dabboor is a

00:49:24--> 00:49:25

process after tafsir.

00:49:26--> 00:49:28

The dabboor is a process after tafsir.

00:49:28--> 00:49:30

The is for the masses, if it wasn't

00:49:30--> 00:49:31

for the masses Allah wouldn't reveal it like

00:49:31--> 00:49:32

the

00:49:35--> 00:49:36

do they not ponder over the verses of

00:49:36--> 00:49:38

the Quran, Why has a rock been set

00:49:38--> 00:49:39

on their hearts?

00:49:40--> 00:49:41

So what can you do

00:49:42--> 00:49:44

to make sure you're not from those who

00:49:44--> 00:49:45

have abandoned the Quran with regards to the

00:49:45--> 00:49:46

dabbur?

00:49:46--> 00:49:49

Something that the masses can do, which is

00:49:49--> 00:49:51

what? You take a verse, you go to

00:49:51--> 00:49:53

a scholar, or you open a book of

00:49:53--> 00:49:56

tafsir, you understand the verse. If still you

00:49:56--> 00:49:58

don't understand the verse, you go to a

00:49:58--> 00:50:01

scholar. Once you understand the verse, the Dabbur

00:50:01--> 00:50:03

starts. The Dabbur for a person who doesn't

00:50:03--> 00:50:05

know Arabic and is not from the students

00:50:05--> 00:50:07

of language, meaning the Dabbur of the masses.

00:50:07--> 00:50:08

The Dabbur al Jumoor.

00:50:09--> 00:50:11

The the the the Dabbur of the masses

00:50:20--> 00:50:22

and calls you to an action. Every verse.

00:50:24--> 00:50:27

There is no exception to this. Every verse

00:50:27--> 00:50:29

in the Quran teaches you knowledge and calls

00:50:29--> 00:50:30

you to an action. I taught you this

00:50:30--> 00:50:32

at the beginning of Surah Al Fatiha. Alhamdulillahrubbaalamin,

00:50:34--> 00:50:36

it taught you about Allah being the Lord.

00:50:36--> 00:50:37

The action that it called you to is

00:50:37--> 00:50:40

to love Allah. Arrahmanur Rahim, it taught you

00:50:40--> 00:50:42

about Allah being the entirely merciful and the

00:50:42--> 00:50:44

especially merciful. The action that it called you

00:50:44--> 00:50:45

to is in having hope in Allah.

00:50:47--> 00:50:49

It teaches you that Allah is the master

00:50:49--> 00:50:50

and owner of the day of qiyamah. The

00:50:50--> 00:50:51

action that it calls you to is to

00:50:51--> 00:50:54

fear the punishment of Allah. There's an there's

00:50:54--> 00:50:55

always knowledge and action

00:50:56--> 00:50:57

in every verse of the Quran.

00:50:57--> 00:50:59

Once you have the knowledge,

00:51:00--> 00:51:02

the action now applies to you.

00:51:02--> 00:51:04

And the scholar will tell you that this

00:51:04--> 00:51:05

is the action that the verse is calling

00:51:05--> 00:51:07

to. And some verses doesn't even that these

00:51:07--> 00:51:09

verses some verses don't even need a scholar

00:51:09--> 00:51:10

to tell you this.

00:51:11--> 00:51:14

So for example, the Quran calls you to

00:51:14--> 00:51:17

love Allah. Let's take a simple example. What

00:51:17--> 00:51:18

is the dabbur for you? The dabbur is

00:51:18--> 00:51:21

for you to ponder. Do I love Allah?

00:51:21--> 00:51:22

How much do I love Allah?

00:51:23--> 00:51:25

What is the ideal level of loving Allah?

00:51:26--> 00:51:27

What is my level?

00:51:27--> 00:51:29

What is the nature of the gap between

00:51:29--> 00:51:31

my level and the level I should be

00:51:31--> 00:51:33

at? Why is there this gap between where

00:51:33--> 00:51:35

I am and where I should be? What

00:51:35--> 00:51:37

solutions can I implement to close the gap

00:51:37--> 00:51:38

between where I am and where I should

00:51:38--> 00:51:39

be? This is tadabhru.

00:51:40--> 00:51:41

Subhanallah.

00:51:41--> 00:51:44

You practice this tadabur, this is you interacting

00:51:44--> 00:51:44

with the Quran.

00:51:46--> 00:51:49

Akayimus salah established the salah. Allah didn't say

00:51:49--> 00:51:51

pray, he said establish the prayer.

00:51:51--> 00:51:53

What does establishment of the prayer mean?

00:51:54--> 00:51:56

What is the level of my prayer? What's

00:51:56--> 00:51:57

the gap between my prayer right now and

00:51:57--> 00:51:58

establishment?

00:51:59--> 00:52:00

Why is there this gap? How can I

00:52:00--> 00:52:01

close the gap?

00:52:02--> 00:52:04

In management, we talk about

00:52:05--> 00:52:05

gap analysis,

00:52:06--> 00:52:07

root cause analysis,

00:52:07--> 00:52:10

solutions analysis. Where's the MBA guys here?

00:52:11--> 00:52:13

We have this. Right?

00:52:13--> 00:52:16

So simply, the dabboor here is to run

00:52:16--> 00:52:18

your own gap analysis. What's the gap between

00:52:18--> 00:52:19

me and the ideal?

00:52:19--> 00:52:22

Root cause analysis. Why is there this gap

00:52:22--> 00:52:23

between me and this ideal?

00:52:24--> 00:52:26

Solutions analysis. What can I implement? What system

00:52:26--> 00:52:28

can we change to close the gap between

00:52:28--> 00:52:29

me and the ideal?

00:52:29--> 00:52:30

This is tadabur.

00:52:31--> 00:52:33

I can spend the whole evening here, but

00:52:33--> 00:52:35

we need to get ready for qiyam as

00:52:35--> 00:52:37

well. Last but not least,

00:52:38--> 00:52:39

patience is a virtue.

00:52:58--> 00:53:00

When this verse is being read, I'm thinking

00:53:00--> 00:53:01

of the people of Gaza. But like I

00:53:01--> 00:53:03

said, are they being tested more or are

00:53:03--> 00:53:04

you and I being tested more?

00:53:05--> 00:53:08

What does Allah say? Say, oh my servants

00:53:08--> 00:53:08

who have believed,

00:53:09--> 00:53:11

fear your lord. For those who do good

00:53:11--> 00:53:13

in this world will be good, and the

00:53:13--> 00:53:15

earth of Allah is spacious.

00:53:15--> 00:53:18

Indeed, the patient will be given the reward

00:53:18--> 00:53:19

in full without accountability.

00:53:21--> 00:53:23

Sabar my dear brothers and sisters in Isna.

00:53:23--> 00:53:24

Sabar.

00:53:26--> 00:53:28

And this verse is connected to a lesson

00:53:28--> 00:53:29

yesterday from Azaab,

00:53:30--> 00:53:32

That for change to happen, you need to

00:53:32--> 00:53:33

spend

00:53:33--> 00:53:34

some of yourself.

00:53:35--> 00:53:37

If not all of yourself, some of yourself.

00:53:38--> 00:53:41

Being uncomfortable is part and parcel of change

00:53:41--> 00:53:42

being born.

00:53:43--> 00:53:46

Giving up that holiday and using that money,

00:53:46--> 00:53:47

subhanAllah,

00:53:47--> 00:53:50

for a more worthier cause that the Ummah

00:53:50--> 00:53:51

has.

00:53:52--> 00:53:53

There's a masjid

00:53:53--> 00:53:54

that needs to be established,

00:53:55--> 00:53:57

an institution in your society.

00:53:57--> 00:54:00

I've been on enough holidays. My £5,000

00:54:00--> 00:54:01

I'm gonna put it here for the sake

00:54:01--> 00:54:03

of Allah. That Sabr Allah

00:54:03--> 00:54:05

will reward you in full for it.

00:54:08--> 00:54:10

There are people who I need, who are

00:54:10--> 00:54:10

hungry.

00:54:10--> 00:54:12

The people of Gaza, the levels of,

00:54:14--> 00:54:15

hunger and, subhanallah.

00:54:17--> 00:54:19

Severe acute hunger is very high.

00:54:19--> 00:54:20

Subhanallah.

00:54:20--> 00:54:23

The scholars say, it is better for you

00:54:23--> 00:54:25

to give up the money you saved for

00:54:25--> 00:54:26

voluntary Hajj and Umrah

00:54:27--> 00:54:29

to them. It's more rewarding than going for

00:54:29--> 00:54:30

Umrah and Hajj, if you've done hajj and

00:54:30--> 00:54:31

umrah before.

00:54:31--> 00:54:33

The books of fiqh discussed this.

00:54:33--> 00:54:36

What's what's better? I go for umrah when

00:54:36--> 00:54:37

it's not wajib on me. I go for

00:54:37--> 00:54:39

Hajj when it's not on me. Oh, I

00:54:39--> 00:54:40

save a dying person.

00:54:41--> 00:54:42

I save a people from hunger.

00:54:44--> 00:54:46

No doubt. All the scholars agree. It's better

00:54:46--> 00:54:47

for you to save that person,

00:54:48--> 00:54:50

to feed that person, to establish an institution,

00:54:50--> 00:54:52

to give Dawah to a nation. These people

00:54:52--> 00:54:54

going out to a village to give Dawah,

00:54:54--> 00:54:56

they need to be funded, fund them.

00:54:57--> 00:54:58

This is better for you than going for

00:54:58--> 00:54:59

Hajj. The £15,000

00:55:00--> 00:55:02

you had for Hajj can create a huge

00:55:02--> 00:55:04

impact on the globe. But it's about fiqh,

00:55:05--> 00:55:06

having an understanding.

00:55:07--> 00:55:09

Yes. It's gonna be hard for you. It's

00:55:09--> 00:55:10

a battle within the self, but I want

00:55:10--> 00:55:11

to go.

00:55:12--> 00:55:14

Remember we said, you got to spend a

00:55:14--> 00:55:15

bit of yourself.

00:55:15--> 00:55:17

You have to be patient. And for the

00:55:17--> 00:55:18

sake of Allah, if this is the right

00:55:18--> 00:55:20

thing to do, I will forego what I

00:55:20--> 00:55:22

want for that which Allah wants.

00:55:22--> 00:55:24

The Eid gathering,

00:55:24--> 00:55:26

they have one to sit together on the

00:55:26--> 00:55:28

same table. It's been a tradition for years.

00:55:28--> 00:55:30

It's gonna be odd. My parents are old,

00:55:30--> 00:55:32

you know, shaitan comes to you with everything.

00:55:32--> 00:55:35

As soon as the new moon arrives,

00:55:37--> 00:55:38

Night of Irit,

00:55:39--> 00:55:39

you start

00:55:40--> 00:55:43

questioning yourself now. Again, but you know my

00:55:43--> 00:55:44

parents are old,

00:55:44--> 00:55:45

but,

00:55:45--> 00:55:46

and, so,

00:55:46--> 00:55:47

if,

00:55:47--> 00:55:49

what, why?

00:55:51--> 00:55:52

You have to be patient,

00:55:54--> 00:55:55

and you have to follow through, but in

00:55:55--> 00:55:57

a wise way. Not a way that breaks

00:55:57--> 00:55:59

things, but a way that does start calibrating

00:55:59--> 00:56:00

things.

00:56:00--> 00:56:02

Yes. People might not think you popular,

00:56:03--> 00:56:05

but if the angels of Allah think you

00:56:05--> 00:56:06

popular, then who cares?

00:56:07--> 00:56:08

That's the reality. Right?

00:56:09--> 00:56:12

But that's the reality. Today, this this idea,

00:56:12--> 00:56:13

no, you

00:56:14--> 00:56:16

know, what do we say? How people say?

00:56:16--> 00:56:18

Yesterday, I spoke about building the rapport.

00:56:18--> 00:56:20

Never ending building. But this is what people

00:56:20--> 00:56:20

want me. You know, we don't want to

00:56:20--> 00:56:21

upset people.

00:56:22--> 00:56:24

Yeah. Times are hard, challenging. Don't don't don't

00:56:24--> 00:56:25

upset people.

00:56:25--> 00:56:27

All this rhetoric is at the expense of

00:56:27--> 00:56:28

the hack and the truth.

00:56:40--> 00:56:42

Hadith that is considered authentic by some of

00:56:42--> 00:56:43

the scholars of hadith.

00:56:45--> 00:56:46

That if you deal in interest,

00:56:47--> 00:56:48

it's too hard for you to leave, consumed

00:56:48--> 00:56:49

by the dunya.

00:56:50--> 00:56:52

Your business is more important to you than

00:56:52--> 00:56:54

everything else. My business then deen.

00:56:55--> 00:56:57

Everything else then deen.

00:56:59--> 00:57:01

You left striving in the path of Allah.

00:57:03--> 00:57:05

Jihad is not just jihad that we know

00:57:05--> 00:57:07

of. Remember, this term jihad was present in

00:57:07--> 00:57:09

the Quran before Allah allowed the Muslims to

00:57:09--> 00:57:10

go out and fight.

00:57:11--> 00:57:12

Before

00:57:13--> 00:57:15

was revealed, jihad was in the Quran.

00:57:28--> 00:57:30

Allah says, do you not see the people

00:57:30--> 00:57:31

when we reveal to them, put your arms

00:57:31--> 00:57:33

down and establish the prayer and

00:57:34--> 00:57:35

give the zakah. Be patient.

00:57:36--> 00:57:37

Don't fight back.

00:57:38--> 00:57:39

There was no jihad. There was no fighting

00:57:39--> 00:57:41

back. But Allah, if you jihad

00:57:42--> 00:57:45

is to that is is to fight all

00:57:45--> 00:57:47

forms of misguidance even starting with yourself.

00:57:49--> 00:57:50

Starting with yourself.

00:57:52--> 00:57:53

You it's too you left it. You didn't

00:57:53--> 00:57:55

want to spend a bit of you. You

00:57:55--> 00:57:56

just wanted to be happy.

00:57:56--> 00:57:59

Allah will reveal upon you a disgrace that

00:57:59--> 00:58:01

will never be lifted until you turn back

00:58:01--> 00:58:02

to your deen.

00:58:02--> 00:58:04

I leave you with the words of Umar

00:58:04--> 00:58:05

when he was going to Baytul Maqdis to

00:58:05--> 00:58:06

receive the keys,

00:58:07--> 00:58:08

and Abu Ubaydah,

00:58:09--> 00:58:12

the Amin of this Ummah, sees the leader

00:58:12--> 00:58:12

of the Muslims

00:58:13--> 00:58:16

walking barefoot with his shoes underneath his armpits,

00:58:16--> 00:58:17

pulling

00:58:17--> 00:58:19

the animal. On top of the animal is

00:58:19--> 00:58:20

the slave boy of Umar.

00:58:21--> 00:58:23

Abu Ubaidah runs to him and says, yeah,

00:58:23--> 00:58:26

Amir Mumineen. The bishops of Palestine, they want

00:58:26--> 00:58:27

to give you the keys. They are waiting

00:58:27--> 00:58:29

for the leader of the believers. Put your

00:58:29--> 00:58:31

shoes on and get onto your animal.

00:58:35--> 00:58:36

It's not bad advice.

00:58:37--> 00:58:38

You could say it's being wise.

00:58:39--> 00:58:40

What does Umar say to Abu Ubaydah?

00:58:42--> 00:58:43

If only

00:58:44--> 00:58:46

someone other than you said this to me.

00:58:47--> 00:58:49

If someone other than you said this to

00:58:49--> 00:58:50

me, they would have felt the pain of

00:58:50--> 00:58:51

Omar.

00:58:53--> 00:58:55

Umr. Lucky it's you, not somebody else.

00:58:56--> 00:58:58

And then he mentioned the important words,

00:58:59--> 00:59:00

we were wretched people.

00:59:00--> 00:59:02

Nobody wanted to know us. We're not worth

00:59:02--> 00:59:03

being mentioned.

00:59:06--> 00:59:09

We are people that have been given honor

00:59:09--> 00:59:10

by Allah through Islam.

00:59:20--> 00:59:20

That whoever

00:59:21--> 00:59:24

seeks honor and izzah in any system, in

00:59:24--> 00:59:27

any way, in any culture, in any ism,

00:59:27--> 00:59:29

other than the system through which Allah gave

00:59:29--> 00:59:32

us honor, which is Islam, then not only

00:59:32--> 00:59:34

will they be disgraced, but Allah will disgrace

00:59:34--> 00:59:35

them himself. May

00:59:36--> 00:59:38

Allah save us from being disgraced.

00:59:45--> 00:59:47

The dua of Ibrahim, he made dua to

00:59:47--> 00:59:48

Allah that, you Allah, don't disgrace me on

00:59:48--> 00:59:49

the day of qiyama.

00:59:50--> 00:59:51

The day in which no amount of wealth

00:59:51--> 00:59:53

or children will benefit a person brought to

00:59:53--> 00:59:55

you. The only benefit will be the benefit

00:59:55--> 00:59:57

of a person who meets Allah with a

00:59:57--> 00:59:59

pure heart. May Allah grant us poor hearts.

01:00:00--> 01:00:00

Pure hearts,

01:00:01--> 01:00:01

humble

01:00:02--> 01:00:02

This is a synopsis of tonight's reading.

01:00:02--> 01:00:02

This is a synopsis of tonight's reading.
